Description
Thermoelectric cooling (TEC) systems offer several advantages, including compact size, absence of moving parts, quiet operation, and environmentally friendly operation without conventional refrigerants. In this study, the cooling performance of a thermoelectric module was experimentally investigated for two different applications: refrigeration and air conditioning. In the refrigeration configuration, the TEC module was used to cool a thermally insulated mini-refrigerator box, and the temperature variation inside the box was monitored. In the air-conditioning configuration, air was passed through the cooling section, and the inlet and outlet air temperatures were measured to determine the cooling effect. The cooling capacity and coefficient of performance (COP) were calculated separately for both configurations based on their respective thermal loads and electrical power consumption.
