Description
The use of carbon nanotubes as a solid phase of the extraction of both organic and inorganic compounds provides sufficient absorption capacity. It is also used as a new material in a solid-phase microextraction. Solid phase extraction of some polycyclic aromathic hydrocarbons (PAHs) (naphthalene, anthracene and pyrene) from aqueous solution using carbon nanotubes (CNT) has been investigated. In the carbon nanotubes, which have a covalently modified surface, a change in selectivity is seen. Single wall carbon nanotubes with carboxyl groups have been used as solid substrate for chemical surface-activation by the 3-(Aminopropyl) trimethoxysilane (APTMS). The sol gel technique is used to modify of carbon nanotube surfaces. Selection of the appropriate solvent for carbon nanotube dispersion and optimal operating conditions have been performed. Using the infrared spectroscopy, the characteristics of the modified surface have been studied. Gas chromatography equipped with a mass detector was used to isolate, detect and measure quantitatively naphthalene, anthracene and pyrene, and a mass detector is planned for the selected ion monitoring (SIM) mod. Parameters such as adsorbent solvent, adsorption time, adsorbent solvent, adsorbent amount, pH, absorption temperature and desorption temperature that affect the extraction efficiency were optimized. For the studied method for naphthalene, anthracene and pyrene, respectively, the limits of detections (ppb) 187.61, 51.46 and 139.45 , the limit of Quantitation (ppb) 562.83, 154.35 and 418.21, the linear dynamic range (ppm) 0. 1-4000 for all, the relative standard deviation (n=5) 4.33, 3.25 and 3.12 has been achieved.
