Description
In recent years, we are increasingly seeing composite materials in the field of biomaterials, driven by esthetic, chemical, and mechanical demands associated with living tissue structures. From the perspective of materials engineering, desired new material forms can be created by combining the superior properties of the constituent materials that make up composite materials. The aim of this study is to conduct research on the use of composite materials as biomaterials by analyzing existing studies in the literature. Within the scope of the study, the keywords "composite material" and "biomaterial" were listed using the Web of Science database with various Boolean search operators. Analyses were conducted by examining the bio composite materials and testing methods identified in the specific studies. These analyses aimed to evaluate the mechanical, aesthetic, and chemical behaviors of composite materials used in the living body. Future studies aim to conduct experiments using specific methods and laboratory set up on bio composite materials that have been frequently preferred in recent years. In this way, the aim is to predict the behavior of bio composite materials implanted in the human body over time, therefore contributing to the establishment of satisfactory treatment processes.
