Description
In this study, the methanolic extract of the aerial parts of Anthemis talyschensis was used to synthesize silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) via a simple and rapid biological method. The synthesized nanoparticles were characterized using UV-Vis spectroscopy; their shape, size, and morphology were examined via Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM); and their structure, size, and composition were analyzed using X-ray diffraction (XRD). TEM analysis revealed the formation of silver nanoparticles with diameters ranging from 30 to 50 nm and an average diameter of 41.8 nm. SEM analysis indicated the formation of silver nanoparticles with a size of 43.0 nm. XRD patterns and analyses confirmed the formation of crystals with a face-centered cubic (fcc) geometry. Interpretation of FT-IR spectra indicated that active functional groups present in the plant extract were the primary agents responsible for the reduction of silver ions (Ag+) into silver nanoparticles. This study demonstrates that utilizing the extract from the aerial parts of Anthemis talyschensis offers a robust and cost-effective method for producing silver nanoparticles from silver ions. Producing silver nanoparticles through this approach is highly significant and valuable, given that the process is both rapid and environmentally friendly.
